My grandmother’s simple trick for eliminating the smell of frying in seconds

The best tricks for frying without leaving a smell: my grandmother taught me

Frying in the kitchen is quite common in every home. And even more so now that we are in the Christmas season. So, if you want to cook every day without the kitchen filling up with smoke and, above all, with that smell of fried oil that bothers us so much, we can resort to several remedies that we will explain below and, more specifically, a very simple trick that will help you eliminate the smell of frying after cooking.

If you want to eliminate bad smells in your kitchen after cooking, for example, chips or fried fish, there is a completely homemade remedy. A trick to eliminate the smell of frying that quickly spreads throughout the house.

The trick itself is as simple as boiling water in a pan and adding a handful of cloves. Place the pan next to the frying pan while you are frying, and the boiling water will absorb all the concentrated smell, while the kitchen fills with the aroma of cloves.

Other tricks to eliminate the smell of frying in the kitchen

In addition to the above, there are other remedies that will be useful in completely eliminating unpleasant frying smells in the kitchen:

  • Water and vinegar: This remedy is similar to the previous one, but consists of adding white or apple cider vinegar to the boiling water. The vinegar will also capture all the odour and will be useful not only for frying, but also when cooking cauliflower, for example.
  • Lemon juice: If you add a teaspoon of lemon juice to the oil before turning on the stove, it will prevent the odour from being so intense.
  • Apple slices: Cut a few slices of seedless apple and place them in the oil you are going to fry in. When you notice that they have darkened, remove them and replace them with others until you have finished frying everything.
  • Bread: Take half a slice of stale bread and dip it in the oil when you notice that it is heating up.

  • Cinnamon or vanilla pods: Simply sprinkle a little cinnamon or vanilla pods around the kitchen or, if you boil them in hot water, they will infuse a rich aroma that will eliminate all other odours. You can do the same if you add parsley or even fabric softener or essential oils to the boiling water.

Finally, don’t forget to turn on the extractor fan when you start frying, and it’s also a good idea to open the balcony or terrace door, as well as the kitchen window.
